Crude oil climbs for fourth day for fresh 2016 high

Oil prices rose for a fourth straight session on Wednesday, with traders waiting to see if OPEC will make good on its promises to cut output in the new year.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, light, sweet crude futures for delivery in February CLG7, +0.37%  rose 31 cents, or 0.6%, to $54.21 a barrel. If it closes at that level, it’ll be the highest settlement price for a front-runner contract since June 2015.

February Brent crude LCOG7, +0.59%  on London’s ICE Futures exchange climbed 34 cents, or 0.6%, to $56.42 a barrel.

Most market participants are waiting to see if major oil producers inside and outside the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries will deliver on pledges to curtail production beginning next month. The deal, if carried out as planned, should reduce global supply by about 2%.

Venezuela, an OPEC member whose economy has suffered greatly due to low oil prices, on Tuesday committed to cutting 95,000 barrels a day in line with the pact.

While market participants are at present optimistic that participating nations will abide by the pact, there is still a degree of skepticism about how closely and for how long producers will comply with individual quotas.

The fact is these items sold on the street don’t have any of these features. These chargers are just produced with the mindset that it will work with any device. This is impossible. It is either the charger is too slow or won’t work at all. The same for batteries.

Earpiece/headphones

This is the least item you should think of buying in traffic. The earpiece/headphones are write-offs and fake. If you don’t want to spend N250.00k every day, you should save money to buy an original one.

Phone

Yes, you can a phone on the road. If you buy these phones, you will not be allowed to test it whether it is working properly or not. The attraction is just that these phones are very cheap. Even when you buy these phones in traffic, you will not have time to peruse it.

Power bank

It is good to own a Power bank especially if you are travelling. However, you should not buy these banks at motor parks and in traffic because it won’t work. You can either order online or go to a store.

Memory Card/Flash drive

Flash drives or memory card are used for transferring files and data. So, if you don’t want to lose your files, be mindful of where you buy them.

Why don’t we speak enough about Sickle Cell? Research shows that Nigeria has the largest cases of Sickle Cell in the world making up to 8% of infant mortality rates in the country. To put it plainly many children to do not live to see their 10th birthday, the genetic disorder occurs when persons containing sickle cell trait pass on their genes to their children leaving them susceptible to Anemia, delayed growth, frequent infections and strokes. Asides that there is a huge stigma attached to the disorder and we want to push back against that with the help of NGO Nirvana Initiative who specialise in educating people about Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) at our event- ‘End Sickle Cell in our Generation’. 

Nirvana Initiative provides a safe haven for sickle cell individuals so they do not have to feel alone knowing they have a community there to pray with them, laugh and support them in all their endeavors. Billionaire Mark Cuban doesn't mince words.

When Entrepreneur asked him on the set of "Shark Tank" for his best advice to make money investing, he replied: "Don't."

Herbert Macaulay
During the 1920s, a period in Nigerian history associated with the beginning of political agitation for self-rule, Macaulay became a leading figure in the first generation of Nigerian Nationalists. In 1921, Macaulay passionately led protests in Lagos over water rates, land issues, and mishandling of the railway finances. In 1922, he helped a Lagos chief in his legal battle with the colonial government who had forcefully taken some of his land for government purposes. The highest court in England heard the case and returned the land to the chief. This victory inspired Macaulay to establish in 1923 Nigeria’s first political party, the Nigerian National Democratic Party whose members were the first to sit in the Legislative Council.
The Nigerian National Democratic Party dominated Nigerian politics throughout the 1920s until the late 1930s. However in 1934, the NNDP lost its dominant position to newly organized student groups such as the Nigerian Youth Movement. In order to avoid the demise of the party, Macaulay’s NNDP joined forces with the Nigerian Youth Movement to form the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons, NCNC. The NCNC led by Macaulay was not a political party, it was a nationalist organization designed to advocate for an independent Nigeria. Herbert Macaulay did not live to see the attainment of independence in 1960. He died in Lagos at the age of 81 on May 7, 1946.

Mark Cuban questioned Donald Trump's wealth during an interview on WABC's "The Bernie and Sid Show," BuzzFeed reported.

The brash business mogul and owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks said that Trump's lack of transparency makes it particularly difficult to determine what the presumptive Republican presidential nominee is really worth.

He also ripped Trump for being willing to put his name on "nonsense" such as Trump Steaks, a since-discontinued brand that was sold through The Sharper Image consumer catalog.

"I know what I'm good at, and I know what I'm not good at," Cuban said. "I'm not so sure Donald knows what he's not good at."

An automated discount card with the capacity to subsidise expenses of serving members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and students in Nigerian tertiary institutions, known as Nigerian Student and Youth Corper Discount Card (NSYCDC), will be presented at the round-table Talk for Entrepreneurs holding in Lagos tomorrow.

The discount card, an initiative of The Bridge Concept, targeted at about 23 million Nigerian youths has been lauded as one that would go a long way in curbing the challenges faced by students and youth corps members.
